Silver Regional Review

Write for us

We welcome concise pitches and contributions about regional materials, craft, buildings, objects and making traditions. Send proposals through the Contact page; a pitch is not a promise of publication.

What makes a strong pitch

Start with one clear subject and explain the reader's question: what will they understand or notice after reading? Name the region, material, object or practice you want to examine, and say what makes the angle specific. A useful pitch shows how it will avoid broad claims and what sources, observations or examples can support it.

Useful contributions

We consider explainers, comparisons, carefully framed histories, myth checks and focused looking guides. Keep the proposed piece grounded and self-contained. Avoid unsupported claims, promotional copy and instructions that require specialist work or could put readers at risk.

Sending a proposal

Use the Contact page to send a short summary, a proposed working title and a note about your relevant experience or connection to the subject. Do not send confidential material or assume that a proposal has been accepted. We may ask for clarification before considering a full draft.

Our point of view

Materials tell a regional story

A place is not defined by its map alone. Look at what people make, build and keep using, and notice how materials carry local knowledge.
